Why We Love the South Wales Valleys We’ve been Why We Love the South Wales Valleys

We’ve been proud to call Aberdare home for over 20 years - and it’s not just the value for money of the properties and the transport links that make it a great place to live and to raise a family...

It’s the community.

Historically, Valleys towns are well known for their close-knit communities and this sense of family and community is as strong today as ever. People have a real sense of belonging here and a true feeling of ‘hiraeth’. The South Wales Valleys are also a great place of Welsh culture with a vibrant Welsh language scene and popular Welsh language schools.

Aberdare itself has recently been given the official title of “Town of Song” to recognise its rich musical tradition and thriving music scene. The inaugural ‘Caradogfest’ was held in 2022 and has become an annual celebration of the Welsh choral tradition in the town. Named for Caradog (Griffith Rhys Jones), whose statue stands directly outside our offices on Victoria Square, the choral festival is a celebration of his achievements as the choral leader of the ‘Cor Mawr’, who won the One Thousand Guinea Trophy at the Crystal Palace in 1872.

With the beautiful countryside of Bannau Brycheiniog (the Beacon Beacons) and all it has to offer literally on the doorstep, but with great facilities and amenities too, the Valleys really do have the best of both worlds. Together with many clubs, sports and activities going on, it’s a terrific place for children of all ages. Why not try horse riding or mountain biking in the Dare Valley Country Park?
🏡 Thinking of making an offer on a house? Make 🏡 Thinking of making an offer on a house? Make sure you have your eyes wide open.

A property survey is one of the most powerful tools you can have when it comes to negotiating the price.

→ It tells you exactly what you’re buying — warts and all.
→ It helps you decide if you’re comfortable with the condition.
→ It gives you the facts you need to negotiate fairly.
→ It could even be the reason you choose to walk away and save yourself heartache (and money) later on.

Remember: what’s a red flag to one buyer might be a fixer-upper dream for another. The key is being informed.

With a survey from us, you’ll know where you stand and whether the price truly reflects the property’s condition.
