SIPP Valuations in Wales

SIPP or Self-Invested Personal Pension schemes allow individuals to hold property as part of their pension portfolio.  At key stages, valuation of those assets is required by independent RICS accredited valuers to comply with the requirements of pension companies, trustees and HMRC.  Here at Jones Battye our RICS Registered Valuers are experts in the Welsh property market and can provide transparent, high-quality reports to meet your needs for acquisitions, portfolio reviews or compliance reporting.

What is a SIPP?

Unlike a traditional pension, SIPPs allow individuals to include a range of diversified assets within the scheme envelope, including commercial property.  These diversified portfolios can provide wider investment opportunities for long term, tax-efficient growth and have other tax relief benefits.

When do I need a SIPP valuation?

From time to time, independent valuation of the property held in a SIPP is required for regulatory compliance and decision making.  Examples of this include when:

  • Acquiring or disposing of assets
  • Transferring assets between pension schemes
  • Reviewing portfolios for administrators and trustees

Sometimes as part of the SIPP process, commercial rent reviews are also required depending on the lease terms.  This is an additional service which we are happy to provide.
