Gareth, a farmer’s son, graduated with a Masters degree from the Royal Agricultural College in 1998, and commenced his professional training with a West Wales firm of Chartered Surveyors.

A year later he moved to a specialist company of Chartered Valuation Surveyors and since that time Gareth has undertaken in excess of 6000 RICS ‘Red Book’ valuations across Wales and England for a wide range of clients.

Gareth also worked as an Estates Manager with the National Trust. He became Chartered in 2001 and, using his range of experience and specialist expertise, established Jones Battye in January 2005 with his wife Eleanor, to create the multi-faceted business that it is today.

He is a specialist residential surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer with specific knowledge of the South East Wales housing market.

Gareth is also involved with the commercial sphere of rural surveying, representing landowners in relation to development and infrastructure. He has specialist knowledge of common land and is the nominated agent for various Commoners and Graziers Associations.

He has been called upon as an expert witness and has provided expert evidence at the Magistrates Court.
